The Batavierenrace is back! On May 8 and 9, 2026, the 54th edition of the world’s largest relay race will take place. The starting shot will sound in Nijmegen, after which hundreds of teams will run in relay stages all the way to Enschede. On Saturday we’ll cross the finish line and wrap it all up with a big party you don’t want to miss!

The 54th Batavierenrace

This year, the Batavierenrace is back in full glory. With an organizing committee of six people, a lot of work is being done behind the scenes to make the 54th edition a great success once again.

On Friday, May 8, 2026, the starting gun will be fired in Nijmegen, and on May 9 we will finish again in Enschede. In 25 stages, we will cover 175 km together, running through the beautiful nature of the Netherlands and Germany, and afterward closing the relay race with the biggest student party in the Netherlands!

Further information about the Batavierenrace and registrations will follow soon, so make sure to keep an eye on the socials and the website. Registrations are expected to open around the first week of November.

Want to help as a volunteer?

For the organization of the Batavierenrace, we will of course need many volunteers again. If you are thinking: “I’d love to contribute to this amazing student event,” then also keep an eye on the website — registrations for volunteers will open soon as well!

We as the organizing committee are really looking forward to it, and we hope to see you all in May!
